Underwater Radiation Monitoring System, RadXP UW

  • The Rad XP Underwater model has been primarily applied in the field to monitor the illegal dumping of radioactive waste by neighboring countries, monitor the discharge contamination of nuclear-related facilities, or monitor the ballast water discharge of ships entering and leaving ports. Especially after the Fukushima accident in 2011, as Japan began releasing contaminated water, its operational scope has expanded for the early detection and response to contaminated water entering the country through various routes.

       Features
    • Suitable for rapid gamma measurement of seawater, freshwater, or waste pool
    • Comprises a Detection Unit to be installed underwater and a Local Controller Unit (LCU) to be installed on the surface (or onshore)
    • Detection Unit, with IP68 rated marine level enclosure, incorporates a ϕ76x76(H) mm Nal(Tl) scintillation detector and a high throughput multi-channel analyz­er, to optimize detection efficiency and resolution.
    • Local Controller Unit (LCU) includes a laptop PC equipped with GeoRaMon SW, GPS, and its own power source.
    • Operational in conjunction with the centralized monitoring SW program (u-RaMon)
    • Optional items available for specific purposes of operations. (add-on battery, carrying carrier, extension cables, etc.)

    • A self-contained buoy system comprises of Detection Unit, Built-in Controller Unit, and Buoy type exterior.
